Posted by: RandyRemington at Thu Mar 2 22:44:36 2006 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by RandyRemington ] I believe the initial breeding to prove pied genetic by Peter Kahl was pied X pied and Tracy Barker has also produced at least one pied X pied clutch (the four high white pied offspring are my computer background). There may be something to the post that the average breeder prefers hets for cost reasons but the pied females produced should be out there somewhere. Either they are in the hands of bigger breeders who don't post about them and/or being used for combo products, or it just hasn't been long enough for the average female pied to get big enough to produce. This may or may not say something about the average reproductive efficiency of female homozygous pieds. | ||
