Building a new rack

I am looking to build a new rack, and was thinking about making it out of Stainless steel. I know I'll have a hard time keeping in the heat, but as I heat the whole room, it's not that big of a deal. I can get any kind of sheet metal, and I was thinking stainless would look better. Is there any reason not to use stainless? Is there any reason not to use sheet metal?
