I'm not a big fan of carpet. I've seen to many belly infections. And totally disagree on spot cleaning. If any fecal matter is there you may disinfect the surface but not inside it. It would be like having dried dirt on your hands, you use hand disinfectant without washing your hands. IMHO
Carpet sure looks nice, and a very very nice setup. But if I were to do carpet again, I'd have a ton of extras and rotate them once a week even if the snake does not defecate.
