I was using the reptile carpet for a while. With as many animals as I have, it took me all day to scrub those things. I descovered after about the 4th time, the smell was not getting out of them very well.
As for using carpet from home improvement stores, I was wondering about that. I was just thinking about any chemicals that might be added in them. I noticed an odd oder from a peice of carpet from home stores. I actually got my reptile carpet from reptilesupply.com, real cheap. But now, I have a whole bag of the stuff because I switched to aspen. I agree though, that the carpet looks so much better. I also have some sliding glass doors on my displays and the carpet was not a problem, where everything else has gotten in the runners. Everything else also seems to get on my floor! My snakes (and lizards at the time) always found a way under the carpet no matter what I did. If it weren't for the scrubbing and smell, I might still use them. ----- **********Misty**********
I haven't lost my mind.... it's backed up on disk somewhere.
