I really don't mind the 3 minutes of cleaning compared to the hours of cleaning the other cages. I was pretty carefull when cutting so nobody has gotten under the carpet yet. I find that if you scrub a little hand sanitizer onto the area after washing it with water it then it doesn't smell.
