Scientific name: Boa constrictor imperator

Common names: boa constrictor, common boa constrictor, Colombian boa, Central American boa, Colombian redtail boa. Boa constrictor imperator is found from northern Mexico to nothern Colombian, but most of the boa constrictors in the pet trade come out of Colombia, as far as I know. These are the common boas of the pet trade. I'd probably call it a common boa constrictor or Colombian boa constrictor. The others are lesser used alternatives that you might prefer. However, I believe many prefer to restrict "Central American boa" to the BCI from the countries between Colombia and Mexico.
