Whats up nighthawk!
If your useing papertowels as a substrate i would advise going to homedepot and getting a lamp dimmer switch. You can usually find them in the lamp and ceiling fan section hanging on a clip or there also by the electrical light switches.The UTH actually plugs into the dimmer switch,the whole thing is manual so you will have to keep an eye on the heat and adjust it as necassary. If you plug in your heater without one, monitor the temp on the ground were your gecko is actually going to be laying with a tempgun or with a probe and see how hot it gets. If it gets to hot then definitly use a dimmer switch or buy a thermostat for the UTH.
