when a snake goes into shed, the entire body is affected. this includes the area inside the nose. therefore, it is difficult to breathe which explains the slightly opened mouth and breathing noises. basically, they have a clogged up (somewhat) nose and they are having to breathe through their mouths to get adequate air. while im not too sure about discharge (didnt reacll any mention of that in the posts) it could be just water unless it is of a milky/other color. but hey, no harm in taking it to the vet. if you recently got it im sure it could stand to be dewormed and given a check-up.
