Everyone on this forum knows that my answer to everything I see my ball python do is to add hides. If she's using a hide, I add another one just like it somewhere else in the cage. If she's not using a hide, I add another one of a different kind. If she were mine, I'd add another hide, but in this case, maybe I'd be right.

In terms of the separation, is there any way that you can divide the tank to let each of them have his/her own space? If the tanks are small enough, you might be able to find a shelving unit so that you could put one over the other and have two tanks.

Either way, I'd recommend posting a picture if possible. If people see the setup and individual snakes, they might be able to help you more.
