Just to play devil's advocate...

It sounds like this guy may just be being difficult, but I know of a lot of breeders that take the wholesale prices from brokers because they don't want to be contacted. They don't want to deal with the customers on an individual basis, so they sell babies in lots and take 1/3 of the price they could get selling them one by one to keep some privacy and not have to do the "tech support" that should follow any animal from any seller. I think part of what you pay for in an animal is the opportunity to call back and ask questions. Unfortunately, I know a lot of bigger dealers that don’t agree.
