If you already have a female.Then you will be that much closer to making supers or crosses.
Whereas,if you hatch your own female pastels,then you have add the year it takes to raise your male,breed him and hatch eggs(really 1.5 years)and the two or three they will need to grow up to produce for you.(This is all under the assumtion that your not unlucky,and you do actually hatch some females.)
