My little is favoring his eye

He opens it whI put my hand in the cage and when he is about to eat. But the remainder of the time he keeps it closed. I'm assuming he got something in it. I have seen him rub his eye once on the climbing vine in his cage. What can I do to help him? I've have never had many problems with my other chameleons so I don't have much experience when dealing with things like this.
