Increasing the quantity would be an ok short term fix. When feeding, there should be a noticeable lump in the belly. Not a huge bloated looking lump. Think of ti this way, if the appropriate sized food is the same diameter as the thickest part of the snake, imagine how it'd look bulged out with that inside.
