If you don't know when they mated then it is guesswork at best. First the female will look puffy, then downright fat. Later she will look a bit less puffy but you will be able to see lumps in her sides and abdomen. When she looks lumpy she will be closer to her due date but it is still a guessing game. When she is ready she will start digging test holes in the substrate or nest box. She may dig for 1-3 days or up to a week before laying the eggs. Watching for the digging is about the only way to know for certain when she will be ready to lay. | ||
