i think plain old newspaper is best. sure i use reptibark but its a pain to clean. aspen looks nice but you have to feed in seperate containers. trust me, when my snakes are hungry you dont want to try to move them. i tried astroturf but was told it was a haven for bacteria. took a chance with potting soil but its a pain to spot clean and the snakes always looked dirty (okay, they were dirty but you know what i mean). i just go out once a week, buy the sunday paper and im good to go for another 7-10 days usually.
