You could get a charming little turtle that may nibble on your plants, but won't destroy them. Any turtle that gets large enough could destroy your plants, even if they don't eat them. I'd get a CB Spotted turtle or several. They're great little turtles, and they aren't really large enough to damage plants by grazing or otherwise. Other turtles to consider are any of the North American mud/musk turtles. They are nearly strictly carnivorous and also stay small. With a pond that size, you could start a nice breeding colony of Spotted turtles. Just make sure that you place a special full spectrum UVA/UVB bulb within the recommended distance over a basking spot regardless of the type of turtle you get. | ||
