Weird shedding?

I'm I first time snake owner, and my BP is shedding for the first time in my care. Starting a few days before his skin became dull, he has stayed in his hide rock only to come out once a day at the most to soak. This is unusual and I am concerned. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
