Just remember, they are not quite as fragile as you might fear when first learning to probe.
Be firm but gentle and you should do fine.
Oh yeah, for me, it was easier to practice on a snake I was already sure about.
Actually two snakes. A male and a female.
This gave me a great indication as to what to look for.
I try to probe right before feeding time. At least this way they should be pretty much empty of waste.
The quicker I am the less likely to get musked.
But at least it is "just" musk and not poop to go with it...lol
Anyway, I think you will learn quickly...
