I just 'borrowed' an IKEA dimmer from my b/f's house and put it on a basking light that was a little too hot to use. The dimmer plugs into the wall/ or timer outlet and the light plugs directly into the dimmer. The dimmer itself is hand held and is on a long cord so you can put it any where that's convenient. So far it's been great I've used my infrared temp gun and have played with the dimmer and now have the perfect basking spot. I think I am going to invest in a few more.
