You don't necessarily save anything on the price of the animal. You are simply saving on the cost of shipping when buying at the show. Whether or not you can talk the asking price down depends on the dealer you are hoping to buy from and how pressed he/she is on selling the animal. Your best bet is to just talk to the dealers when you are at the show to get a feel for what you may or may not be able to get out of them price wise... if you don't ask, then how can you know if they are willing to deal. Sometimes (at least with the 2 day shows) waiting till/towards the end of the show may help as some dealers don't want to have to haul excess animals back home and are more willing to come down some in price if it helps make a sale. Of course if the animal is exceptional, chances are it might not even be there by the end of the show for you to try and talk down in price - someone else could have snatched it up for the original asking price much earlier in the day. Also, if you are buying animals from a dealer in bulk, you can usually get a discount. ----- _____
