With all the hype on this new boa and the dealing of what to call it and who had it first, lets not forget its a win / win situation for the boa community. My opinion on the rights goes to the creation of it, but while we can debate all we want there is only 1 living specimen now. I think and this is my only opinion after reading all the replies since it was debuted is that a name should have come way after a few sheds, maybe a few months to see where the look was going. Sure its nice to see a new morph and jump for the glory, but in the long run a little time taken and the fame would still be there. I noticed its been marketed already, the "Moonglow" name for the litter. And I also realise Justin' s side of confusion (figuring out what his baby was as well) and loss. With the growing amount of people jumping into boas and morphs I see this happening alot in the long run, where new looks are coming up and people deciding and debating who was first. My opinion on that goes again to creation meaning there was one 4 days before. Maybe this has not happen before where 2 or more breeders have the same result in a short time frame and then only 1 has the living specimen. In Mark' s I see the Hypo in the pattern and with Justin' s the pink/red coloring in the face region is just amazing, so at least in this situation we have seen 2 versions of the Hypo Snow. And to me that makes it an interesting project to jump on for anyone wanting to explore the possibilities of this genetic wonder. And finally the name part, Moonglow sounds different and exciting. But I am more with the people who like the tech term being Hypo Snow. I guess its marketing and reaping the benefits of a new boa, but I think the naming came to soon and does not really represent this new creation.

Do we keep debating the name?

I ask why, it would mean 2 different breeders coming to a conclusion and possibly agreeing on a new name, a techical term, and a combination of there choices. Can and will it be done who knows, basically Justin and Mark are the only 2 people that can clarify this once and for all.

For future reference for all people breeding animals (boas) this is something to think about if you have to dabble in crossing genes. Do you go with the techical term, or a visually fancy name and how do you go about unveiling it. I for one learned something from all this and that is even a bad situation as in a loss is a gain. Justin sorry for the loss but you now have proof on your pair and next year is very promising for you.

Congratulations to you both
