Posted by: jayf at Sun Apr 9 19:56:26 2006 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by jayf ] over the years i have noticed that many people other then myself had discovered vertical wrinkles or bent scales on their snakes. through expreimenting, i now believe this problem is due to low levels of humidity. since coming to this conclusion i have purchased a humidifier and have significantly raised the humidity of my enclosures. out of three snakes two are fully rid of the wrinkles and the third is on the way. through my experimentation i have concluded that humidity levels maintained above 65-85% will help rid the problem. i understand that humidity should be in this range anyway, but i just felt it to be useful information for anyone with snake wrinkle problems. previously i had kept humidity levels at about 50% by using a large water bowl in my cages but this proved not enough in my current living conditions. i was not going to post this until the third snake (worst case) was completely cured, but i figured it cant cause harm so i should share the information as soon as possible. i hope this will help at least someone. | ||
