Hey,
My guess is a Western earth snake, as you surmised. That is definately what it looks like. That is intersting, because last April, I had two Westen worm snakes shipped to me for some research from Missouri, and there was a gravid western earth snake that arrived along with them. Same state, same species, same time of year, and that absolutely beautiful Western worm snake looks exactly like one of mine did! Coincidence? I especially like the worm snake. That is a striking example with some beautiful, glossy coloration on the venter. ----- DAVE
