Posted by: beachbeardies at Thu Apr 13 12:16:01 2006 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by beachbeardies ] all females will lay eggs in their lifetime, whether they are fertile or unfertile is to be determined. if she hasnt been with a male then of course they will not be fertile. my females usually do not eat much, if at all a week or so before laying eggs and until they are done. when i start to notice my female digging in her cage i feel for lumps in her stomach, feels like small marbles, those are the eggs. i then move her from her cage to a laying bin. i use damp 50/50 soil and vermiculite. i pack it down very tightly so it doesnt collapse when she digs her whole to lay in. i use a large rubbermaid tub for her to lay in with proper heating and UVB provided. i have had my girls lay as quick as a few hours from when i put them in the laying bin or as long as 3 days. i have also found giving them a bath relaxes the dragons, if they are being stubborn about laying the eggs. | ||
