Hi All,

Haven't been here for awhile - I guess b/c all is well. Darwin is STILL doing a semi-brumation thing and has been keeping his left eye closed a lot and for several weeks off and on. Now it is is most of the time. I brought him to the vet for routine checkup/fecal (glad I did, he had low count of pinworms) and asked about his eye while there. Vet said it was probably dry and suggested "natural tears" and more humidity. He had just endured a VERY long shed (first since Sept) on front of head and 3 legs (now his belly is going).

Yesterday I looked at his eye with a 16x handlens and can see tiny bits of shed that seem to be stuck b/t his lid and "brow bone" and some in the corner as well. It does not seem to be IN his eye but it is obviously enough to be troubling him. I have been spritzing it with a warm, fine mist then rubbing gently with my finger (he is such a good boy and actually puts up with this for a bit!) I don't know what else to do for him. Neither I nor the vet see any infection, discharge, etc. Does anyone have any "at home remedies" for this? I would normally use jojoba oil on stuck shed but since it is his eye I don't thinnk I should.

Sorry so long! thanks in advance! Here's his good eye
