I can't remember if the female was housed with a male or not, so won't state the obvious reason why she would lay infertile eggs. Other reasons is if she was with a male, he may not have a high sperm count, hence some or most eggs were not fertilized. Low calcium can cause the shells to not form properly or genetic defects may cause the eggs to never develop.
