Today was a truly horrible day...We lost not only a prized possesion but a member of the family....Pearl was a 3yr old Snow boa, who until about a month ago was a big, lovable, beast...

I'll fill you all in...We attempted to breed her this year...Starting in October we started cooling her and then introduced her to a DH male..We seen them copulate many times, and about a month ago we were sure she was gravid...Well she started looking a bit thin, but according to all the books"thats normal" so I wasn't too worried...Well she just kept looking thinner and wouldn't even flick her tounge at food...so I started getting worried....Then Thursday night I really checked her out...She looked thin but still had a "fullness" in her lower 3rd....Well today she was acting restless, moving all over her enclosure, and passed some urates..I thought maybe she was getting close!!...I looked in about 20 min later and just about hit the floor....She was gone!!..She had her head tucked under a coil with a small amount of blood coming from her nostrils...

Hopefully a necropsy will tell us something...

She will be truly missed....

Terry
