Joe,

Yes, Almost every single Motley has that wierd few scale blotches under the chin. Also, some have it on the neck. I think this is a dominant trait passed on. Some have a LOT more then others. It is funny that you mentioned that because I have had a lot of customers bring that up to me too. They do seem to have the color of the Super Motley. Also, about the Super Motley. The color on them will vary from one animal to another. They change, and as they get older, they almost have a Pewter color to the them, or should I say a Platinum grey color.

I categorize Motleys into 3 different patterns. Many have the circles, and some have the square blocking pattern, but of all the different patterns, you will end up with 3 results. 1 is the STRIPED tail Motleys. 2: The Broken Tailed Pattern in the Motley. 3: The perfect Laddertail. It doesn't matter what the parents have. You could have a dad with PERFECT laddertails, and he will usually produce all 3 looks. I have found that many prefer the Laddertail look. Some the Stripe, and many love the Broken tail too. They are all beautiful, but I'm sure they will be sold on a graded Basis as more are produced.

What is so awesome about the Motleys are the different colors too. Some are more pastel like, and then you can have siblings in the same litter that are VERY dark. Also, the Striping on the Belly that Celia mentioned. Many Motleys have a double striped belly, and some just have a patterned Belly. It seems to be the lower 1/3 of the tail on the belly. However, The HYPO Motleys don't have this. But, the Hypo Motleys do have the pattern after the VENT under the tail just like Normal Motleys. The pattern is very distinguished and easy to see. All Motleys(or Most) have this pattern in them after the Vent under the tail. It is pretty cool.

Thanks for asking. Your Litter must have been an awesome awesome feeling. I don't think I could ever get sick of producing more Motleys and looking at all the different colors, patterns, and other wierd things that go into them. They are my favorite Morphs. Maybe I'm Biased!!! LOL!!!!!! I'm proud the gene is here to stay, and that many will be able to own them someday. As more are produced, the prices will come down, but also, they can also be added to sooo many bloodlines, and different traits to make them unique.

Best of luck to anymore potential litters you may have, and Happy Easter to everyone in the Forum.
