Sorry to hear about this but,this what I do when I notice an escape.First,if possible,close the door to the room the snake was,then turn off the lights.Every thirty mins. or so walk in the room quietly and turn the light on,look around the room for a couple of mins. if you don't see him repeat this until you see him.Maybe I've just been lucky,but this has worked for me everytime.
