ok i know i have almost no experience compared to many others here, but ill throw in my 2 cents.
one of my females laid for the first time this year, she laid 5 eggs but wasnt taking care of them at all,( i was planning on maternal incubationbut with this development i had to act fast)
i took a 11 x 11 piece of flexwatt, screwed it into the top piece of a styrofoam box from a fish wholsale petshop, and set it up like any other incubator. took me about 10 minutes to set up, and i adjusted after the eggs were in.
all 5 eggs are doing very well so if you have concerns about your ignored eggs surviving, you could try this. my method is keeping the humidity at 80% and the thermostat keeps it at a steady 31 celcius. it is very cheap to set up the most expensive part was the thermostat, which s from an old waterbed, and the heat tape.
best of luck
