>>my albino cali just laid 8 good eggs after breeding to a pueblan/nelson. Now my question is can I use a different male for a second clutch? I wouldn't want to get eggs from both males in one clutch and not be 100% sure what they are.

Hi kirkpatrick and congratulations on the 8 eggs, i hope they stay viable for you.

1: can I use a different male for a second clutch?

1: = Yes

2: I wouldn't want to get eggs from both males in one clutch and not be 100% sure what they are.

2: = you will get eggs from the sperm of one male, either the retained sperm of male 1 or the new sperm of male two.

Also if the males look completly different from each other then you could use that as an indicator for the hatchlings but that isnt 100%.

so if you want to be completly sure , use male 1 again.

Ps only second clutch if the female is at a good weight and she is 100% healthy.
