I don’t see it being required. I think the main thing that we all stress as the unwritten law of the trade/hobby is honestly represented animals of every category. I think the breeders who are super serious about their lines rarely buy stock from the classifieds unless they recognize the seller and know them to be working with what they have an interest in. Most of these same familiar names regularly swap stock and they have a pretty good idea whose lines are from who. It is part of the intrigue to carry on the lines of the founding breeders. When you are dealing with an obvious looking hybrid, it is kinda moot- we can all see it is a hybrid. Those into producing the next oddball thing (not meant to knock it) basically want to know “what is it het for?” and figure out what might mathematically pop up in their experiment. When some undesireable “normal” looking things pop up, then there is the thought they would be sold off as the thing they most closely resemble to the more unsuspecting (and maybe uncaring- as in not a serious breeder) snake buyer. A serious breeder bringing in some mystery thing that only seems right might find out after investing a couple or four years he has been duped, and learn the hard way to buy from somebody you trust. Then I guess the little “surprise” ends up in the classifieds as a “hybrid!” Buyer beware!
