So, unfortunately, Roxy laid her eggs while I was out of town and the incubator didn't show up as there was a problem with the credit card (more like a problem with the person ordering it). However, my friends that were house sitting were very diligent about helping and spent a considerable amount of time finding the right location and lighting combination to get the inside of the nesting box 92F.



So here's my concern besides the obvious, in the nesting box I put organic soil and sand. There's even some kind of sprout looking things growing in there. The eggs look like large poops. They seemed to have taken the color of the soil. I haven't touched them as the temps are constant in the box and I'm really just guessing as to the moisture that's in there. I'm spritzing water in there as it feels neccessary.



Have any of you experienced this situation where the eggs take on the color of the substrate? I'm assuming that the moisture on the eggs soaked up some soil contents.



Otherwise, what else would have caused the eggs to look as they do? Will post pics tomorrow. Hopefully the incubator will show up tomorrow as well.
