Posted by: Horridus at Thu May 11 09:13:26 2006 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Horridus ] I think the best way to assign them would be "captive produced cross", while occidentalis and imperator do not intergrade in the wild naturally...they are no more a hybrid than the columbian x red tail "intergrades" that are being produced. One might say that since the above ssp. do intergrade in the wild that they would be a "natural" breeding but this occurs only in specific areas with specific populations...so the animals you are going to produce are as "natural" as someone breeding a redtail of unknown locality with a colombian also of unknown locality.
