I agree with tom the hatchling is actually absorbing the yolk sack in the 1-2 day period so just let him come out on his owm and place him on a MOIST paper towel to help with the umbilical cord from getting to dry and snagging.I personally DO NOT put my hatchling on anything but dry paper towels (after the umbilical cord falls off) until the umbilical cord hole COMPLETELY heals
