Aberrant Orange Blood Boa clutch

This clutch was born 3 days ago ... my High Orange Central American female was bred by male Blood boa. I was expecting normal looking 100% Bloods(100% pure Central American, no Colombian blood mixed) as you can see (pics below) when the babies came out half the clutch are high Orange kinda like mum !!

I purchased her (from Ben Siegal) as an adult so don't really know what she looked like as a baby, but she is an exceptional iridescent Orange color. Ben tells me she came in as a Costa Rican farmed baby several years ago ... so why the Orange babies ??

The consensus is that she is either (1) het for Blood and these are Orange Blood babies (they have black eyes just like baby Blood boas, the normal sibling 100% hets don't) or (2) she is a new kind of codominant High Orange mutation and so the babies are "new morph" High Orange, 100% het Bloods or (3) She is a "new morph" codominant High Orange but her mutation works like the Blood boa mutation, so if fact these are a new line of High Orange Blood boas ...I'm happy either way

My Blood female is due to drop in a few more weeks ... so I will compare the babies ... but of course the only way to be sure is to breed the babies back to Mum or breed her with a normal and she what the results are.

Anyway, thought everyone might like to see these. When they have shed I'll post some better pics.

Thanks, John
