Personally, I don't leave snakes in the car for more than a few minutes unless the conditions were absolutely ideal.

Where might you be stopping? My solution to this problem has always been a backpack or a duffel bag... That way you can take them with you most places and no one will notice. Most places, the worst that can happen if someone does is they ask you to leave...
