Fed Ex is currently the only one of the big companies that will ship snakes knowingly. DHL has wavered back and forth from what I have been told, and has refused to take on new shippers for different reasons.
I would strongly suggest that everyone registers to ship with Fed Ex as a snake shipper to show the strength and value of our community. Fed Ex has chosen to take the chance on us, as a community, to see if we are worth the financial liability that we represent. If we give them enough business shipping snakes the right way, then the one in a million idiot that makes us all look bad won't matter. I far prefer to only have to worry about if the box makes it from A to B. Instead of having to worry wether or not some guy at the depot is going to decide to return my box in one to two days because he decided his company doesn't ship snakes or if the clerk at the starting location will take it.
If you contact your local Fed Ex depot and ask to talk to your area sale rep you should on your way. It is a bit a of a pain to get it all going but once you do it is worth it. You will need to ship a test box with a deli cup in a tied snake bag to the inspections facility. Use a foam lined box and you should be fine. You can ship the test box ground and it will cost a couple bucks.
