Hibernation

I was just wondering how to put a monitor into hibernation. Do you put him in a cooler room or just turn off the cage lights and/or heat? Do you have to hibernate monitors at a certain temperature? And is the temperature uniform across all species of monitors? I obviously don't know anything about breeding, but I am hoping to in the future. After hibernation does one just put the monitors together and hope they migle? Any light on the subject(s) would be nice. Thanks.
