There is no period, It all depends on you, the animal, your setup and what happened along the way.

And besides ackies are tame. You shouldn't do anything to tame it. You best bet is to feed it, then feed it off tongs, then feed in off your hands, then feed it off your arm, then feed it off your shoulders, then feed it off your head, then feed it off your dads head, etc. If you form a relationship with food, your monitor will become your partner, which is far better then "tame".

Holding monitors in an attempt to tame them is very chancy. If you watch this forum for any lenght of time. You will notice all these folks holding pestering, etc. to tame their monitors, you will also notice, 9 out of 10 of those monitors are dead within a year. Do you want to take that bet? The odds are totally against your monitor.

healthy monitors LOVE to eat, food over comes fear, food builds trust. Trust makes for a bond, a bond makes for Tame. The side benefit of all this food conditioning is, your monitor gets fed a lot, it grows a lot, and will reproduce a lot, if you allow it. Cheers
