Sure, it can happen. Especially when the newspaper gets wet & the snake roots around in it. The dark newsprint looks worse on my lighter colored snakes. Unfortunately, my leucistic texas rat tends to get the paper everywhere and usually into the water dish. The stain does not seem to last, however. Duffy
