It has been a while since I have posted, but FAMILY comes first.

I had another litter of Sharp Sunglows a couple weeks ago- three years in a row and from the same female (she is getting a well deserved break next year)! The mother was a Sharp from Rich Ihle, which had essentially been confirmed to be possible het Anery from a couple of her littermates being proven het Anerys. This year I paired her up with a 2004 Triple het I produced in hopes of proving her as being het Anery, but unfortunately/fortunately she turned out to be just a beautiful Sharp. I cannot complain, I still have a healthy litter of Sharp 50% possible het Anery’s!!!

I figured I would also take this opportunity to post some pics of a couple yearling Sharp Sunglows, to which you can compare to the neonates above and SEE the transformation that takes place in the Sharps. Most Sharp Strain Albinos are rather unimpressive as babies, but color up beautifully as they mature. And when I say unimpressive as babies, I mean they are typically not as vibrantly colored as the Kahls- but as adults, on average and in my opinion, Sharps are usually superior (with the exception of true Kahl Corals). I feel fortunate to have purchased, bred, and personally observed MANY Sharps go through their transformations and can honesty say they are truly unique.

I like albinos…T-‘s and T ’s! But, I like to work with the rarer of the two mutations and am simply mesmerized by their color transformations.

Speaking of T positives, I anticipate having a litter in a few weeks. I am hoping she does not slug on me since she appears to be pretty swollen for this stage in the game (i.e. my females seem to be relatively small the last month before partuition).

I hope everyone is having a great year…it has been a little slow over here.
