Really, I think its your SQL server. MANY times the header of a page will load and sit there, sometimes it will time out, sometimes it will go, but it always seems like its when the PHP page is getting the message data from the SQL server. Have you tried cleaning them up? Time to get new/more sql servers? I have had this problem at both my office (T3 with bellsouth) and my home (cable with mediacom). You can blame it on the backbone all you want, but my professional openion is its your SQL servers. I am not saying you are doing a bad job, its hard to keep up with high traffic sites that use the DB for every request... but when thats the case good servers running good database packages and good servers with VERY GOOD memory can come in handy.
