I wanted to take the time to say what a wonderful and kind man Tim Cole, of Austin Reptile Services is. Tim invited me out to Texas to do some lepidus herping and we did very well, finding lepidus in Sutton County, Edwards County, Val Verde County and Terrell County(juvenile). What I found very admirable was Tim's insistence on me keeping the leps. I guess he did it because my entire collection is lepidus lepidus and lepidus klauberi. I don't know if many of you know Tim, but he is very honest, admirable and full of knowledge. I was equally impressed with his facility, being very clean, organized and detailed. His animals are totally awesome and I can't wait to see the results of his projects. I will remember my first Texas trip very well....like the idiot who wore a racing helmet while he drove his beat up truck into Sanderson, burying my head into the windshield while Tim slammed on the brakes to catch a toad, being threatened by a neighbor of a rancher who didn't know we had permision to herp the area (he apologized shortly afterwards), nearly hitting a buffalo, and countless others. One quick irony...we found that while listening to The Doors we had great luck in finding leps....And, as we were leaving Sanderson and our lep trip behind, we turned on the radio and freaked out...a song called "This is the End" by The Doors was playing....what a fitting song as our trip came to a close! Thanks Tim, for all your advice, integrity, honesty...and, most of all, your valued friendship. Oh, and thanks Deb for letting Tim go for 9 days!John Blume
