You have made an excellent selection for a first pet. They are the easiest reptile to care for. Along with tolerance of human contact and some amazing colors they are the most popular and comonly kept reptile.

As for adoption I know that time to time I see adoption notices on these sites. Not too mention at the end and begining of the season people are trying to make room or find good homes.
