red spots on blacktails

I have 2.1.0 arizona black tails and one has small red spots on its ventral side. They look like little blood spots. He is parasite free and did not have them when I bought him. I will try to get some pics. I was unable to tube him for a better look and was hopeing someone might have an idea of what they are.
