Sure am glad I quarantine in a seperate room!!!!!
One of my striped columbians showed up with a half dozen pepper flakes in the water bowl. Also found two live ones crawling around in the tub. "explative deleted" So I've sprayed his tub, moved him to the far corner of the quarantine hatchling rack as far away from the rest as I can get him. Also moved the other two stripes to the other corner even though they don't have any signs of mites - yet.
Another good thing is since I planned on bringing in several new boas, I bought my first can of provent-a-mite. I had not seen a mite in my collection in 15 years.
This is really for the newbies, when bringing in new snakes, quarantine is a MUST and be prepared!!!!
For the pro's, I sprayed the empty tub and let it dry completely. I use paper towels for substrate, should I spray the paper towels as well? And how often should I retreat. The boas came in this last Wednesday. ----- Thanks,
