I'm out of rodents for my BP (steve), and I want to order some more from rodentpro.com.
He was eating hoppers, but that's because that's all I could find from the local reptile store at the time. He ate up to 6 of those in a sitting, so they're obviously too small.
I'm thinking now that since he's thicker than the diameter of a quarter (probably more silver-dollar sized), I should order weanlings?
Since shipping costs so much, I was thinking about getting 50 weanlings (I assume he would eat more than one, so that would last about 25 weeks or so), or 50 large adult mice, but I get the feeling those are going to be too big for him. One of my thoughts was to get 50 weanlings so that he can eat those for the next few monthes, and also get 50 large adult mice for the months after that (I would vacuum seal them), and 25 XL adult mice for after those are gone (also vacuum sealed).
Would that be a good transition in size? I figure it would be about a year before he got to the XL adult mice.
Also, when you order rodents, what do you do the day that they are supposed to arrive? Do you have to wait at home for them to get there or what?
