Most males will be a bit wider at the base of the tail but you really can’t count on that and the tails are not a good indicator either. The only way I find that it can be done with any degree of accuracy is to wait until they are at least a few weeks old or longer and pop them, still not a easy thing to do with such a small snake and should only be done by someone with lots of experience at doing so.
