I know that "red phase" hogs are very popular, but I am seeing an overextention of the red phase label. If you look at the iris color, you can clearly see that it is brown. The problem is that the color of the eye is the same as the color of the scales... brown! I agree that there is a spectacular contrast, and certainly more appealing that just a normal colored hog, but these days you can't tell what people have done in post processing.
Even if I disagree with calling this hognose "red", I will admit to the photos being very nice, and worth framing. ----- Virginia Herping
